If you get a chance, you might want to check out the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic church just across the river and up the hill from Calgary's downtown. A lot of us attended Mass there while our bishop used the swine flu (and our priest's refusal to distribute communion in the hand) as an excuse to shut down FSSP Masses here a couple years ago. It's absolutely gorgeous inside, and I was surprised to find out that the interior painting was done very recently, from 1996-2000: http://abvmcalgary.com/abvmcalgary/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=123&Itemid=83 The priest and parish made us FSSP refugees feel very welcome, and I keep meaning to go back one of these Sundays for a visit. The liturgy is so beautiful, I barely missed my TLM.
A lovely thing. You might like a church of mine that I recently posted on:http://platytera.blogspot.com/2011/10/deutsche-romanische-kirchen.html
M...I remember hearing about the temporary suspension of Masses at St. Anthony's during the swine flu outbreak. Good on the FSSP for refusing Communion in the hand. Now with the provisions laid down in Universae Ecclesiae, no such thing is possible.
