I have seen countless shots of this Bernini elephant but this is the first from this angle. A great shot.
When I first saw this elephant carrying an obelisk on his back,I took a closer look at his face and discovered to my utter amazement a twinkle in his eye, as if he was trying to convey to me "LOOK,WHAT I AM ABLE TO CARRY!!"
A sad memory for me, though; only a couple of days before this shot was taken, my iPhone was stolen in S Maria sopra Minerva!
This is a neat angle. I remember seeing this when I was in Rome in the late 1970s and early 1980s.Looks like it needs a good cleaning....
