Clergy Shoes

Timeless.

Once I was blessed to see the old clergy shoes of Cardinal Pacelli.  They were like these, but red.  As his shoes wore out he would keep the buckles for a new pair.

  1. Love'em!
Not wearing these should be made punishable for Catholic Clergy ;-)

  2. The whole decree by Paul VI banning buckles, tassles, the mantelletta etc. needs to be overturned formally. It is not in continuity with the Traditional Catholic Church. Let clergy wear what they please as long as it has been done before. What could be the harm in buckled shoes for goodness sakes !

  3. You buy one or two pairs of these and they last for an eternity. They are worth the price.

I agree. You'll find the old priests (55+) are 100% behind the liberal mindset of Paul VI and his agenda....those usually 40 and under are largely against his agenda and rulings about vesture....and have restored it on their own.

Benedict XVI would do well to recind most..or all...of what Paul VI decreed.

  5. Where are those shoes from? Are they a new pair, or an older pair from archives?

  6. Would that they were cheaper, but at £210 a pair, they are a very expensive addition to the clerical wear.
I wear the soutane (cassock) daily, but cannot afford such luxuries as these buckled shoes.
Only outlet I've found is Senior Gammarelli's.

  7. Wear what you want, who cares? The new clergy like clown nozes , cowboy boots, and pro wrestling attire while they say Mass. If you want to preserve our traditional dress, do it!

  8. There must be somewhere else than Gammerellis who sell them ?
