Where to Attend Midnight Mass in Rome

This year Midnight Mass with the Pope starts not at 12 a.m. as in former years, but at 10 p.m.

Tickets are extremely limited.

FSSP in URBE Midnight Mass at 12 a.m. in downtown Rome is a fine option: http://roma.fssp.it/.

  1. Is there a requirement that the Midnight Mass for Christmas start at midnight? I'm guessing not, because the Holy Father is starting at 10:00, as you say. But it seems weird to start the Midnight Mass not at midnight. I've heard of a parish offering Midnight Mass in the Extraordinary Form at 7:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. That doesn't seem right to me. Any insight?

Thanks for the blog, John! I check my Google Reader for OCS updates more often than you know!
