Inside the Palace of the Canons in Mexico City

A fascinating place.  The home of the illustrious canons of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Mexico City.  A lot of history here in the Sala Capitular.  Notice the Gothic ceiling.  It is the only complete gallery of images depicting the former esteemed Archbishops of the hallowed See of Mexico City.  The shelf is dated 1714.  The paintings are greatly significant and illustrate common themes of the Faith in Mexico: the Holy Family, the Coming of the Holy Spirit, Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Triumph of the Faith, the Last Supper, etc.  May the deceased prelates of yesteryear pray for us and God save Catholic Mexico!
