Native Roman Ordained Priest in Rome in the Usus Antiquor

Proprio un vero Romano!

History in the making every day of the year.

Congratulations to don Massimo Botta, FSSP!

A native of Lariano, near Velletri, a village located near to the papal summer villa at Castel Gandaolfo.

Ordained in Rome on Saturday at the Church of Santissima Trinita' dei Pellegrini at the hands of His Excellency Guido Pozzo.

Grazie Agnese e Gianluca!

  1. First Italian member of the FSSP. First FSSP ordination in Rome. Hopefully he will be posted to the holy city. The ICK have one Italian member. Pray for more Italian vocations.

  3. I hope someone gives him an iron as an ordination present! That surplice looks terrible!

  4. The first such ordination in the diocese of Rome in almost 50 years (a native son ordained priest in the Urbs in the Classical Rite). A son of Nemi (Nemorensis Lacus), birthplace of Rome!

  5. A pure linen surplice in the Roman heat of summer. I am sure he has been busy and can be excused. At least it looks well used!

  6. May Our Lady obtain for him all the Graces necessary to be a holy priest after the style of St Phillip Neri who once offered the Holy Sacrifice in the Church of the Pellegrini.

  8. I have met Fr. Botta. He is a fine young man and I am certain will be a great priest for the Fraternity and Holy Mother Church.

As for the ironing, I pray that was a joke.
