Here we go again....that's how the modifications started in the USA....just a little "nip/tuck" here and there in the beginning, then afew years later a shorter veil and dress, then afew years later no habit at all. Each time a modification was adopted, fewer vocations...until by the time they were habitless there were none. This is a Polish Order. Their habit is beautiful...but if they're starting to liberalize, I hope they go down...like all the rest.
The one in the middle better shape up! First one pin goes, then an inch up, then the blue jeans come! No more sixties ! This is anew era of the Benecitine Reform!
... or like a lot of communities there are practical reasons why they had to change the style of habit, such as unavailability of fabric and materials...
They just look like different styles, there really isn't anything missing except for the difference in veil. It is very difficult, at least in the US, to find certain styles and some sisters don't know how to make them anymore... maybe we could give the good sister the benefit of the doubt!
Sister Mary (a habit wearing sister who has personal experience finding out how to practically keep the habit going!!)
