What a Folded Chasuble Looks Like

Yours truly has seen two versions in Rome.

One version is simply cut in the front and sewn in this manner.

While others, such as the one depicted in this photo, are simply folded in the front and held up with a pins.

  1. Are they still used in the Pantheon/Santa Maria?

  2. They're so naughty at Santa Trinita with their pre-62 addenda.

  3. Just curious, what is the reason for pinning it up? Is it for a specific liturgical ceremony? I've never seen this practice before.

  4. I've only seen them pinned up in the back.
