Tintinnabulum of the Patriarchal Basilica of St. Mary Major
It would be nice to see this again in the sanctuary, where it belongs.
Today it is kept in the basement, in the treasury museum.
For Mass with the Pope, it should be carried in procession.

Best Driver for Hire in Rome
People always ask: "Anybody know a good driver to hire in Rome?"
Look no further. Pasqualino is the best. He comes highly recommended.
Italy Ride has their site in English: http://www.italyride.com/.
Nicest people. And they speak English. Punctual, friendly and knowledgeable.
Hire them to drive you to and from Fiumicino airport or the port at Civitavecchia. Excursions in and outside the city. Day trips in all directions. I have been highly satisfied with them and highly recommend them.

Birthday of Rome Celebrations
The celebrations each year are spread over three days.
It is a lot of fun to see the hundreds of costumed actors who walk in the parade. You can visit them in the Circo Massimo to see their tent camp.

Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe
"Our Lady of Guadalupe, mystical rose, make intercession for Holy Church, protect the Sovereign Pontiff, help all those who invoke thee in their necessities, and since thou art the every Virgin Mary and Mother of the true God, obtain for us from thy most holy Son the grace of keeping our faith, sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of life, burning charity and the precious gift of final perseverance."

Nuns at the Service of the Altar
The nuns have always made the most lovely appointments for the altar. This was their way of service. Here you see a tabernacle veil and ciborium veil, both made by Canadian nuns. Exquisite detail for the King of Kings.

Christian Militias in Syria and Iraq
Fighting back to protect and defend.
The family, home, & church are sacred.
God be with these persecuted men and women.
They have so little and have lost so much.
But they frequently have more than us in faith.
The Church is strongest when She is on the cross.
