Moscow on Good Friday, although the collaboration of the Moscow Patriarchate with the former Soviet and current Russian regimes in oppressing other denominations both inside and outside Russia (specifically in Ukraine) needs to be remembered. Is the Novus Ordo Mass portrayed full of abuses? Absolutely. Is it heretical? Is anyone attending that service denying the Trinity or the Divinity of Christ? Is the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist being denied? Are the people there worshipping God, albeit in a fashion hard to describe as reverent? Let God judge. Not my cup of tea, but "judge not, lest ye be judged."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3181589320170374720.post-67072029365399375592013-04-14T06:48:08.798-07:002013-04-14T06:48:08.798-07:00Liturgy in the Roman Rite used to be just as rever...Liturgy in the Roman Rite used to be just as reverent and beautiful. Artistically, the LA conferences decor and vestments are a macrocosm of what many Churches use. The music is totally compatible with what most Catholic Churches allow and I live the reality every day in my Catholic High School. The clapping can be found in the parish of my childhood, the girl altar servers are common place, the lack of reverence is widespread. Aside from the abuse, it's totally fair. It's not. Unfair comparison...they are comparing apples to oranges. It would make more sense to compare the Good Friday liturgy of the Patriarch to the Good Friday liturgy of a Metropolitan Bishop. The Novus Ordo Mass being celebrated in this video is clearly filled with abuse. Why not compare a Novus Ordo Mass celebrated at St. Agnes in St. Paul, MN or one celebrated in the Brompton Oratory? This video is like those comparing the traditional Latin Mass to a Novus Ordo Mass filled with abuse. Please post something a little more "fair." In case you're wondering, I do prefer the traditional Mass over the Novus Ordo, however, I am privileged to belong at a parish where the Novus Ordo is said reverently and the traditional Mass is welcomed.
